Michael B. Hamar was a member of the Virginia College Building Authority ("VCBA") by gubernatorial appointment from July, 2000, to June, 2004, serving as the Authority’s Vice Chairman from July, 2002 to June, 2004. VBCA is the state bond issuing authority for financings for public colleges and universities in the Commonwealth of Virginia and for qualifying 501(c)(3) private colleges and universities in Virginia.

Mr. Hamar has served on a number of educational and community organizations and committees, including serving on the Board of Directors of Prevent Child Abuse Hampton Roads.

Michael is also a member of the Tidewater Real Estate Investor Group ("TRIG"),Commercial Real Estate Women of Hampton Roads ("CREW"),the Ghent Business Association ("GBA"), and is a member of the Board of Directors of Hampton Roads Business Outreach ("HRBOR").
